The Causes of Am Rev Part 2 Review

Directions: Under each complete the phrase, answer the question, fill in the blank, or define the definition.

Describe where the protest over new taxes got many of their ideas: they got them from people such as John Locke

Describe what action the Stamp Act Congress took, and the British response to it: added more taxes and that just made the colonies boycott

Describe the Boston Massacre and its causes: when the colonies started to revolt the British solders attacked and killed many.

Describe British response to the Boston Massacre: In response to these tensions, Lieutenant Governor Thomas Hutchinson ordered that the British soldiers be withdrawn to Castle Island

Describe the Boston Tea Party and the British response to it: the colonist got on board of a ship And dumped all the tea into the harbor, Briton closed down to harbor.

Describe the First Continental Congress and what policies came out of it: The first national American government was the Continental Congress. Colonial leaders came together in this Congress to oppose British policies that restricted their rights and taxed them without representation in Parliament.

Colonial Life Review

How were colonial govs set up and how did the Glorious Rev in England affect them? The colonist were basically rule by a representative from the king, they were only allowed to trade with England

Describe the slave trade and how it affected the colonies: at first they only had indigent servants but when the slave trade started they began getting African slaves to work for them

Describe colonial trade and taxes: the colonist only traded with England to paid taxes to them aswell. ALL IN THE BENEFIT OF ENGLAND..

Describe how the enlightenment affected the colonies: it was the start of all new thing and ideas just like all enlightenment times.

Describe the Great awakening in the colonies: The Great Awakening was a watershed event in the life of the American people. Before it was over, it had swept the colonies of the Eastern seaboard, transforming the social and religious life of land.
